Panel structure and materials

The slatted panels are finished with real oak veneer, giving them a natural and nuanced look. The panels’ base and slats are made of high-quality MDF board. The standard version consists of a black stained base and veneered slats, while the fully veneered version, which looks like solid wood, has a veneered base and veneered slats. The veneer adds durability and rigidity to the finished product, which also makes installation easier.

The slats are planed at a 45 degree angle, which gives the panels a polished, three-dimensional appearance. Their design also improves the acoustic properties of the panel: the angle between the slats diffuses sound. Our slatted panels belong to sound absorption class E. Read more about acoustics below.

Product information

  • The dimensions of one panel are 3000 x 217 x 20 mm
  • The surface area of one panel is 0,65 m²
  • One panel weighs 7 kg
  • Tongue-and-groove joints on all sides
  • The edges of the slats are slightly rounded and pleasant to the touch
  • The slats are either 36 mm (5x/panel) or 65 mm (3x/panel) wide and the spacing between them is 8 mm

Slat Mix version of the slatted panel is also available, which is a panel with slats of varying widths throughout. With Slat Mix, you can create multidimensional and vivid surfaces.

  • The panels’ base and slats are made of MDF board
  • The panels’ base is either coloured black or veneered with oak
  • The slats are veneered with oak
  • The colour options are oak, white oak, mocha (brown coloured oak) and black (black coloured oak)
  • Water-soluble adhesive
  • UV-cured varnish
  • Finnish Emissions Class M1

The finishes are odourless, which makes them a safe choice for homes with small children and for those who have allergies.

Our slatted panels are manufactured in Finland in our Kauhajoki factory and the raw materials used are sourced from within the EU. Our slatted panels are CE-marked and FSC®-certified. No solvent emissions are produced in our factory.

Functional room acoustics improve living comfort by calming the soundscape of the home, thereby enhancing overall quality of life.

In simple terms, room acoustics can be improved in two ways: either by absorbing sound or by diffusing reflected sound. Absorption is achieved by placing a soft material on a surface, causing the sound that hits it to be absorbed by the material. Diffusion, on the other hand, is achieved by placing a hard, uneven surface in the room, causing the sound that hits it to reflect in different directions instead of bouncing back (echo).

Our slatted panels are classified in sound absorption class E according to the ISO 11654 standard. The tests were independently conducted at Turku University of Applied Sciences in 2024. You can read the test result report here. The absorption class does not fully describe the acoustic properties of our panels, as the tests measure sound absorption, whereas our slatted panels focus on sound diffusion through the design of the slats. This type of sound absorption efficiency cannot be measured by the tests conducted, so the actual acoustic performance is therefore slightly higher than the described rating / classification.

The acoustic properties of our slatted panels are considered sufficient to improve the general room acoustics in a home environment. The more acoustic surface area there is, the greater the impact. For example, installing a ceiling panel is an easy way to get an essential part of a room’s acoustics right, already at the construction stage.

  • The panels with a black base are fastened with black screws. The screws are included in the delivery.
  • The panels with a veneered base are fastened with crown staples. The staples need to be purchased separately.
