Indoor walls
Indoor ceilings

Our acoustic panels are suitable for walls and ceilings in dry indoor spaces. They are ideal for acoustically demanding environments.

Our slatted panels and acoustic panels look identical, but they differ in their core materials and sound absorption classes.

Panel structure and materials

The acoustic slatted panels are finished with real oak veneer, giving them a natural and nuanced look. The acoustic panels have 40 180×20 mm holes milled into them. The surface area of the openings is 21% of the total area of the panel. In addition, the panel’s base is covered on both sides with high-quality German acoustic fabric.

The slats are planed at a 45 degree angle, which gives the panels a polished, three-dimensional appearance. Their design also improves the acoustic properties of the panel: the angle between the slats effectively diffuses sound. Our acoustic panels belong to sound absorption class C, “highly absorbent”. Product information

  • The dimensions of one panel are 3000 x 217 x 20 mm
  • The surface area of one panel is 0,65 m²
  • One panel weighs 6,5 kg
  • Tongue-and-groove joints on all sides
  • The edges of the slats are slightly rounded and pleasant to the touch
  • The slats are 36 mm wide (5x/panel) and the spacing between them is 8 mm
  • The panels’ base and slats are made of MDF board
  • Acoustic fabric is used on both sides of the base board
  • The slats are veneered with oak
  • The colour options are oak, white oak, mocha (brown coloured oak) and black (black coloured oak)
  • Water-soluble adhesive
  • UV-cured varnish
  • Finnish Emissions Class M1

The finishes are odourless, which makes them a safe choice for homes with small children and for those who have allergies.

All of our panels are manufactured in Finland in our Kauhajoki factory and the raw materials used are sourced from within the EU. Our acoustic panels are CE-marked and FSC-certified, which means that the wood we use comes from responsibly managed forests. No solvent emissions are produced in our factory.

Functioning room acoustics consist of a fine balance between sound absorption and reflection. Total sound absorption, for example, would make it difficult for sound to travel through a room, while no sound absorption at all would result in echos and make a room sound unpleasantly loud. The acoustics of an echoing room can be improved in two ways: either by absorbing sound or by diffusing reflected sound.

Our acoustic panels are classified as sound absorption class C, “highly absorbent”, according to the ISO 11654 standard. The tests were carried out independently at the Turku University of Applied Sciences in 2020. You can read the test results report here. The acoustic properties of our acoustic panels are a combination of sound absorption and diffusion: the acoustic fabric absorbs sound while the design of the slats disperses sound reflections.

In class C, 60-75% of the energy carried by sound waves is absorbed and the rest is reflected from the surface. This absorption class ensures improved room acoustics even in the most acoustically challenging spaces. The more acoustic surface area there is, the greater the impact. For example, installing a ceiling panel is an easy way to get an essential part of a room’s acoustics right, already at the construction stage.

  • Acoustic panels are primarily fastened with crown staples onto the stud. The crown staple should enter diagonally into the tongue joint. Make sure that the staple is under the groove joint, i.e. covered by the next panel.
  • Secure the acoustic panel by adding a few black screws (2–3 pcs/panel) between the slats. Please ensure that screws are not placed in the acoustic openings to avoid damaging the acoustic fabric.
